Sarah Louise Rector, born September 24, 1982, passed away March 16 at University Hospital after a brief illness. She was a vibrant, beautiful young woman who will be remembered by her family and wide circle of friends for her resolve and generosity of spirit. Sarah was born in Los Angeles but lived most of her life in Denver. She graduated from George Washington High School in 2000 and from Yale College in 2004. She received an M.A. in Art History from the University of Delaware in 2007 and a J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School in 2010. Sarah clerked for Judge Jones of the Colorado State Court of Appeals from 2010 to 2012 and subsequently began work as an associate at the Cooley, LLP law firm in the Intellectual Property Division in Broomfield, CO. She loved to volunteer and was a member of the Denver Mile High Rotary Club and local legal groups. A skilled classical pianist, Sarah was particularly fond of Liszt. Sarah is survived by her parents, William and Nancy Rector, her brothers David and James, her grandmother Norma Rector, and three aunts, Christine Rector, Carol Bausch, and Susan Peters. Memorial Service 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 19 at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 1091 South Colorado Boulevard, Denver.
