Sean Phillip Maguire

Sean Phillip Maguire, age 79, died November 2 of complications following surgery. Born in Kansas City, Missouri to Kenneth and Margaret Maguire, he and his family moved throughout the Midwest during his childhood. He graduated from Rockhurst High School in 1956, where he excelled in basketball and troublemaking. He attended the University of Colorado, served in the Army Reserves, and then finished his education at the University of Denver. Married for 55 years to Mary Jo Kellough, he was a proud father of Bonnie and Danny. A natural salesman, he worked for IBM and Velo-Bind, then established his own successful business in Denver. Sean loved sports, cards, movies, Mexican food, and making people laugh. He was preceded in death by brothers, Dirk, Kevin, and Brian, and nephew Michael Drake. He is survived by his wife and children, son-in-law Jason Sutherland, daughter-in-law Fran Maguire, sisters Patricia Power and Maeve Drake, six grandchildren, and 17 nieces and nephews. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 11 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 2375 E. Arizona Ave., with reception to follow.
