Sebian Lee Holiday

November 17, 2001 — June 19, 2018

Sebian Lee Holiday was born to Bernada (Wallace) Ingram and Keithan Holiday on November 17, 2001 at St. Joseph’s hospital in Denver, CO. Sebian was born a pleasant and happy baby. At a very young age, he was diagnosed with a terminal degenerative muscular disease. He never crawled, but in his true fighting spirt, he did learn to walk until he lost that ability right before pre-school. Despite his devastating diagnosis he stayed optimistic. Seb did not focus on what he was unable to do in life, instead he focused on what he could do and improvised in every way. Sebian loved learning and being in the classroom. In school he enjoyed drama class, band. Yes, he was a drummer. He was very competitive and always did his very best in school. He loved being a Falcon at Frontier Elementary! As he got older, he took a strong liking to math and science and aspired to go to college to become a mechanical engineer. He was so proud to be a Bison at Vista Peak Preparatory, where he was a sophomore. One of Seb’s favorite hobbies was playing video games, and he was the proud owner of almost every system made from the old Nintendo GameCube, to the latest Wii, X-Box and PlayStation 4. Seb also loved anime and Naruto was his favorite. Seb also loved to travel and experience new things, his passport was in heavy use. His parents took him by plane and automobile to many places in the world including Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, Hawaii, Texas, Mexico and Dominican Republic. Sebian also cruised the Sea of Cortez, Hawaii, Bahamas, and Caribbean sea. Much like his mother, he did not care for camping very much and did not hesitate to express his opinion about it. Sebian had an old, wise soul and was mature beyond his years. While he was limited in his physical abilities he never used it as an excuse at home or at school. Like most young kids he did not like English class very much, but he learned to write and did so until he could not write anymore. He turned away voice-to-text technology assistance offered by APS for a very long time and continued to write and type until he didn’t have the physical strength to do it any longer. At home, he would volunteer to help around the house folding clothes to earn an allowance and save money. He would invest his money thoughtfully in the things that brought him joy, but only after doing his research on-line to verify the functionality and reliability of the products he was interested in. Sebian was an advocate for himself and others. In 2017, he and his father opened a recreational center named for him called Seb’s Recreation Center. A place for all to enjoy abled, differently abled, young or old. Sebian’s 16th birthday was celebrated at the center with friends and family last November. The center continues to serve the community. Sebian has been featured in numerous news articles, videos, Facebook post for his message of humanitarianism, positivity, and love of life. His message has been shared thousands of times. Sebian legacy is the Recreation Center where he continues to be an inspiration to others. Sebian Lee Holiday was called home on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, there to meet him is his grandfather, Leroy Holiday. He is survived by his parents Bernada (Wallace) Ingram and Keithan Holiday.
