Sharon K. ""Berglund"" King

Sharon Berglund King, 73, of Littleton, CO, passed away Thursday Sept. 8 at Swedish Medical Center from complications of chemotherapy. Sharon was born August 17, 1943 to Adelia (Mickey) Weixel Berglund and Bernard T. Berglund in Minneapolis, MN formerly of Enderlin, ND. She graduated from Enderlin High School, Enderlin, ND in 1961 Valedictorian of her class and went on to obtain her nursing degree from St. Luke's School of Nursing in Fargo, ND. Upon Graduation, Sharon entered the Air Force at Shephard Air Force Base Wichita Falls, TX. During her four years of service she met and then married her husband Jeffrey P. King. When she retired from the service, she had reached the rank of Captain, Sharon was very proud of the time she spent in the Air Force and service to her country. Sharon and Jeff then moved to Colorado in 1972. Sharon worked as a nurse for over 37 years taking time to be a stay-at-home mom for 12 years. She retired from nursing in 2012 after spending most of her years working nights. Sharon was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin. Her grandchildren were the lights of her life. She was a caring and dedicated nurse, a loyal and supportive friend, and valued strong family ties. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and fellow nurses. Sharon was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years Jeffrey P. King and her parents Adelia (Mickey) Berglund and Bernard T. Berglund. She is survived by her 3 children, Daniel King, Centennial, CO, Kevin (Bonnie Yee) King Astoria, NY, and Katharine (Michael) Williams, Parker, CO, her four beloved grandchildren Aidan, Ryleigh, and Cydney Williams, Parker, CO, Theodore Yee King Astoria, NY, brother Wayne Berglund Grand Forks, ND, 3 aunts, nephews, grand nephews and many cousins. A Memorial Service for Sharon will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery Sept. 23, 2016 at 12:30PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sharon's name to the Denver Dumb Friends League, Denver CO or Cure Search for Children's Cancer, Children's Cancer Society.
