Sharon Rein, 84, died on May 22nd, 2023 at the Collier Hospice at Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
Born in Kansas City, she was raised by her adoptive parents, Elmer and Vesta Corn in Wichita, Kansas. She graduated as a French Literature major from Oklahoma City University.
After marrying Jesse “Sam” Thornham in 1960, she had her children Kyle and Hilary.
Sharon married Robert “Bob” Rein in 1970. Before settling in Loveland, Colorado, they lived with their blended family in Nebraska, Wyoming and Washington State.
During her nearly four decades in Loveland, Sharon shared her administrative expertise at McKee Medical Center, Loveland Radiology, First Care, and the Larimer County Medical Society. A believer in community service, she was a member of the Loveland League of Women Voters, volunteered for the Friends of the Loveland Library Foundation, the Loveland Museum, and the Income Tax Preparation Program.
In 2016, reluctant to leave her longtime friends in Loveland, she moved to San Marino Retirement Community in Westminster. There she found a host of new friends that continued to enrich her life.
She is survived by her children Kyle and Hilary; her step-children Steve, Barb, Laura, Debbie; her grandson Jesse and several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband Bob.
