Sharon Davis Robertson Willsea, an avid reader, lived an adventurous life with her beloved family and friends. She was born on January 13, 1946 to John and Clarissa Robertson in Monroe, LA. When she was five her father, who flew for TWA, was transferred to Prairie Village, Kansas. John, his wife, and two daughters made the move to Prairie Village to begin a new chapter. As a kid, Sharon dreamed of becoming an anthropologist or teacher, and excelled as a tennis player. She was known throughout the region as a highly skilled and fierce competitor; attributes that would serve her well throughout her life. Sharon later attended the University of Kansas and graduated in 1967 with a degree in education.
Following a Master’s Degree in 1968, Sharon added a new chapter to her story when she moved to Colorado in pursuit of a career as a teacher. While in Denver, she met the love of her life, Charles Willsea. Sharon and Charles were married on June 11, 1969. Together they embarked on an adventure that spanned over 52 years. They raised two children, Kimberly and David, and have spent the past seventeen years as devoted grandparents to Tavian, Isabelle, Isaac, Domini, and Aaron.
Sharon spent 32 years teaching and serving thousands of students for Aurora Public Schools. Following her retirement, Sharon and Charles spent time exploring the world through their travels and created many lasting memories seeing different locations together, and with friends. Sharon was a fighter. She survived a battle with breast cancer, heart disease, and a bad back. Throughout it all, she never wavered from the things that mattered most to her. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Sharon’s book of adventure sadly ended at her home on the morning of April 13, 2021. She is survived by her husband Charles Willsea, her sister Deborah Nelson, daughter Kim Olszewski, son David Willsea, son-in-law Gordon Olszewski, daughter-in-law Tanya Willsea, and five grandchildren Tavian, Isabelle, Isaac, Domini, and Aaron.
