Sharon Annette Wood

Sharon Annette Wood passed away on March 24, 2014. She is survived by her husband David Borth. Sharon was born on Colorado Day, August 1, 1942 to Earl Raymond Wood and Helen Alyce Lyons Wood. She attended Denver and Wheatridge schools. In 1960 she graduated from Wheatridge High School. At Colorado State University she majored in Business Education and was active in the Cosmopolitan Club. Sharon was consistently on the honor Roll. She received her B.S. degree in 1964 and worked in the Denver Office of the Atlantic Richfield Oil Company. She later taught business subjects at Delta High School, Colorado. Sharon carried memories of her co-workers and students with her throughout her life. On July 6, 1968, Sharon married her husband David Borth, in the Arvada United Methodist Church, Colorado. Until retirement from the Air Force the couple had assignments to Honolulu, Las Vegas, Kansas City, Washington D.C. and in the deep Southern U.S. Sharon was an accomplished pianist. She enjoyed art, travel meeting people and collecting Hummels and stuffed animals. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one sister, Dianne (Stan) Nicolette, one sister-in-law, Jewel (Wendell) Sonnenberg, A brother-in-law, Vernon (Gay) Borth, all of Sterling , Colorado. One Brother-in-law, Richard (Lois) Borth of Shoreview, MN., as well as numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews. The couple had no children. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services were Friday, April 4, 2014. Burial was at Fort Logan National Cemetery on Monday, April l7, 2014.
