Shawn Robert Schwaller (February 13, 1972 '"" September 9, 2007) Shawn Robert Schwaller, 35, passed away September 9, 2007, after a short battle with leukemia. He was born February 13, 1972 in Wiesbaden, Germany, to John and Rosemary (Gooby) Schwaller. Shawn's early years were spent traveling with his family. His father was a field service technician, which took them throughout the United States and the countries of Germany and Jordan. In 1982, his family returned to the United States and settled in Sioux Falls, SD where he completed his education. Shawn graduated from Brandon Valley High School in 1990. He received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in 1995. Following graduation, Shawn worked for Rockwell in Cedar Rapids, IA, as a firmware engineer. He then moved to Denver, CO in 1998. Shawn was employed at Raytheon Company as a software engineer where he excelled at problem solving and collaborating with his team members. Shawn was united in marriage to Tricia Mohrhauser, October 10, 1998 at Hartford, SD. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Tricia, of Centennial, CO; his mother, Rosemary Schwaller of Sioux Falls, SD; his sister, Amy and her husband, Macy Richardson of Sioux Falls, SD; his grandmother, Marie Palmer of Sioux Falls, SD; his grandfather Joseph Schwaller of Brandon, SD; and a host of many family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, John Schwaller; his grandmother Cecelia Schwaller; and his grandfathers Robert Gooby and William Palmer. Shawn enjoyed his travels, scenic sites and car shows. His involvement in Tau Beta Pi (engineering honor society) took him and his wife throughout the country several times a year. Shawn also assisted with functions at the Denver Concert Band and traveled with them to Washington, DC, France and Germany. His greatest passion was his love for cars, car shows with his dad and best friend, Monte Bossman, and getting together with his friends from his car model club (GFD Denver). His smile and sense of humor touched the hearts of everyone he met and will be missed by all. Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, September 12th at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 5-8 pm. Funeral service will begin at 10am on Thursday September 13th at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Memorials may be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society The Rocky Mountain Chapter 5353 W.
