Sheila Marie Guilfoile Angone, age 56, of Denver, Colorado passed away peacefully at Denver's Presbyterian St. Luke's Hospital on June 25, 2020 surrounded by family after a courageous two-year battle with breast cancer.
Sheila was born January 5, 1964 in Ottawa, Illinois to John and Gail McCormick Guilfoile. She grew up in Bloomington and later Palatine, IL. During those formative years she developed her indomitable spirit and deep, life-long friendships, many of which still thrive to this day.
Sheila had a larger-than-life energy, a heart as big as all outdoors and a sense of humor that kept us all from taking ourselves too seriously. She was compassionate, hard-working, and fiercely loyal to the people she loved. She cared about those less fortunate and always pulled for the underdog. She had a clear sense of what is most important in life...family, friends, and simple pleasures.
She had an intense love for animals - especially dogs, and some of her favorite work was at dog daycare centers where she was surrounded by fur babies. They truly made her heart sing. Music was another one of her passions and there was nothing like watching her revel in the music she loved.
Sheila loved being near the water. Sitting on a beach, lazily floating down a river with friends or lounging on the sun-soaked bow of a boat brought her a profound sense of peace.
Sheila gave and gave during her time here and she believed that we are all here to make the world better. We are all better for having known and loved her.
She is survived by her daughter Olivia Angone (Denver), stepson Thomas Angone III (Longmont), her mother Gail Guilfoile (Denver), brother Jeffrey Guilfoile (Denver), sister Lisa Guilfoile (Vici)(Parker), stepmother Joan Guilfoile (Lake Wales, FL), step brother Todd Weihmeir (Melissa)(Lake Wales, Florida), extended family and a host of wonderful friends.
She was preceded in death by her father John Guilfoile (Lake Wales, FL), maternal and paternal grandparents, an aunt, an uncle and two cousins.
Per Sheila's wishes, she will be cremated, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date to be determined.
