Sheila Louise Galloway

November 16, 1942 — February 12, 2013

Beauty Queen, Daughter, Sister, Mother, Friend and Animal Lover Resided in Franktown, Co November 16, 1942-February 12, 2013 On February 12, 2013 Sheila Louise (Schober) Galloway passed away due to complications during heart surgery. She is survived by her daughter Alexandra (Schober) Kubick (husband-Chris), her son Kendall Schober, her brother Bennett Wade and sister Lisa Wade. Her mother, Mary Louise Wade passed on February 14, 2013. Sheila was born in Henderson, Texas, attended Kilgore College and was a Kilgore Rangerette. After she helped raise her siblings she went on to become Miss Texas 1961 and runner up in the Miss Universe Pageant. Always a beauty queen, she never left home without being dressed to the nines. She married Henry Schober Jr. with whom she raised a family for 16 years. She moved to Colorado in 1974, fell in love with the mountains and started a Real Estate career. Van Schaack had an opening. She filled it and quickly and became ""one of the guys"". Eventually, she shifted into a successful Real Estate Appraising career where she mastered her craft as she did with most of her passions. Horses, Anatolian Shepherds and wolves were her main source of happiness and topic of many conversations. After living in many parts of the state, she settled in Aurora, Co for a while. Here she purchased her first horse ""Sundance"". She then bought him a home on 3 acres in Franktown, Co where she spent her last 18 years. However, the ""love of her life"" was her Anatolian Shepherd ""Cowboy"" who, after he passed 5 years ago on the same day, she had his name tattooed on her wrist. Sheila was an independent woman and always wanted to make an impact. Her strong opinions and drive to make a difference won her the position of Mayor of Franktown. After experiencing much negativity she left the position after only 6 months. She was a hard worker, took care of herself and even better care of all her animals. Writing books in a log cabin on 30 acres in the mountains is how she spent many sleepless nights dreaming. That's where she is now with Cowboy. Sheila's services will be held at the Franktown Fire Department Community Room 1959 N State Hwy 83 on the SW corner of Hwy 86 and Hwy 83 in Franktown, Co Saturday February 23, 2013 at noon. Lunch and beverages will be served until 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sheila Galloway Memorial at Bank of the West.
