Shelby Grace Giles of Roxborough Park passed away unexpectedly at home on the morning of December 12, 2012. She is survived by her son Parker David Giles, mother Laurie Donaldson and step-father Steve Donaldson, grandparents Laura Meley and David Giles, grandmother Ellen Steger, sister Morgan Donaldson, and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death earlier this year by her great-aunt Anita Laing, whom she loved very much. Shelby was born in Austin, Texas, on April 1, 1992. Though she only lived there for 4 years, she always considered herself a Texan at heart. She lived the rest of her life in Roxborough Park, attending grade school at St. Mary's of Littleton and high school at ThunderRidge and Eagle Academy. Most recently, she was a student at Arapahoe Community College. Shelby was an avid volleyball player for many years and loved the friendship and camaraderie of the team sport. She also greatly enjoyed her time working in the restaurant business, first at The Melting Pot and then at Hacienda Colorado. Shelby brought a beautiful smile and exuberance for life wherever she went. She cherished her friendships and never hesitated to drop everything to help a friend. Her true pride and joy, however, was her son, Parker. She was a loving Mom above all else. A public visitation will be held on Monday December 17 from 4â6:30 p.m. with a Vigil Service to follow at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road in Centennial. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 18 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Francis Cabrini Catholic Church, 6673 West Chatfield Avenue in Littleton.
