Sheldon Ross Mc Clellan, 64, passed away April 20, 2007 at his home in Aurora, Colorado, following a six-year battle with cancer. He was born August 8, 1942, in Hayward, California, a son of David Ross and Margaret Stewart Mc Clellan. He attended schools in Hayward and then graduated from Cal Poly, Pomona. He married Kay Phyllis Fryar on September 17, 1975. Sheldon and Kay made their home in Hayward, where Sheldon worked as a City Planner for 32 years, retiring in 2002. Following retirement, they moved to Colorado. Sheldon had many interests and hobbies. He was an active member of the LDS Church, and served a mission to Peru. He loved the people of Peru and learned so much about them that when he returned home from his mission, he continued with Latin American studies and began collecting Latin American artifacts. He enjoyed landscaping which included the study of plants; he loved the outdoors, enjoying camping, hiking and water sports. He was also great at woodworking and created many treasured pieces for his family. Sheldon is loved and will be missed by many. He is survived by his wife, Kay Mc Clellan, Aurora, CO; daughter, Kimberly Ann (Steven) Mercer, Provo, Utah; sons, David Travis Mc Clellan, San Francisco, CA; and Cam Taggart Mc Clellan, of Provo; two grandchildren, Savannah Aidan Mercer & Abraham Mc Clellan Mercer, Provo, Utah. Sheldon is also survived by sisters, Noreen (Thomas) Green, Spokane Valley, WA; and Delna (Glen) Beecroft, Taylor, AZ; twin sister, Sharlene (Brent) Gardner, Orem, UT; and brother, Norman (Becky) Mc Clellan, Orem, UT. A Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 26th, 10:00 a.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5175 S. Picadilly Street, Centennial, CO. A viewing will be held just prior to the service, from 9:00-9:45 a.m. Interment, Hampden Memorial Gardens.
