Shelly Campbell Dana took the Spiritual Concord to heaven after a hard fought battle against cancer, on Sunday, December 27, 2015. Born July 24, 1971 in Rome, New York to Joseph and Sandy Campbell, Shelly was a loving, passionate, totally unique woman who had a lasting impact on the lives of everyone who knew her. She loved God, her family, friends, the Red Sox, great food, music, literature, fly-fishing and being the life of every party. She loved LIFE and lived it to the full. She was a graduate of Rome Free Academy and State University of New York at Oswego. She traveled the world, teaching high school English in New York, Tokyo and Denver. Shelly married Chris Dana in 2000 and was a very devoted and loving mother to Madeline and Jackson. Because education was her passion, she was a founding member of Ben Franklin Academy and served as the PTO President for three years. She was a founding member and on the Board of the (upcoming) John Adams High School, working until the very end to see her dream of a charter high school come to fruition. She will be missed beyond measure by her husband and children, parents; sister, Kathy Dowling and her husband, Bill, Joe and his wife Mary; Steve and his wife Kim; David and his wife Jennifer; nieces Nicole, Julia and Brooke; nephews Kevin, Brian, Joey, Sean and Will; mother and father-in-law Anne and Mark Dana, sister and brother-in-law Kim and Bob Kimmel. And enough friends to fill Fenway Park. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 2, 2015 at Mission Hills Church, 620 Southpark Dr, Littleton, CO 80120. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Casting for Recovery or Project Angel Heart. Please share memories of Shelly and condolences with the family by signing the guestbook below.
