Shirlene Costigan

Shirlene Costigan, 71, of Aurora. Wife of John Costigan III; mother of John IV (Gertrude) Costigan and Alicia Costigan. Grandmother of Darnisha Wheaten-Costigan (Jacob Stevens), DeVante' Wheaten-Costigan, John Costigan V, and Javon Costigan. Great grandmother of Mya Stevens. Sister of Dale (Janet) McMillan, Draper, UT. Sister-in-law of Mary McMillan, Plano, TX. Shirlene is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Born and raised in Salt Lake City, UT, Shirlene moved to Colorado in 1966. Shirlene was the youngest of twelve children and was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Ida McMillan; brothers Lynn, Don, Bob, Grant, Delmar and Vern; and sisters Mary, Elizabeth, Aileen and Wanda. Shirlene worked for the Colorado Office of the Attorney General for 25 years before retiring in 2001. After retirement, she enjoyed spending her time as a volunteer for the City of Aurora Judicial Review Board. Shirlene loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and new great granddaughter. She also enjoyed traveling in Colorado and enjoyed spending time in Georgetown, Estes Park, Breckenridge and Glenwood Springs, and especially enjoyed spending time in favorite place, her beloved Hawaii. A public visitation will be held on Monday, July 22, 2013, from 5:00-8:00pm, and the funeral service will be Tuesday, July 23, 2013, 11:00am. Both the visitation and funeral service will be held at Horan & McConaty, 5303 E. County Line Rd., Centennial, CO 80112. Interment will be at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
