Shirley S. Billings
July 27, 1936 ~ November 12, 2019
Shirley Billings, the beloved wife of CAPT Tom Billings, went to sleep and joined her heavenly Father in the early morning hours on Tuesday, November 12th. Her husband was by her side at the end, still holding her hand. Shirley was a special person to everyone, a super Navy wife, and a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was the one and only love of her husbandâs life for over 60 years, and she fought valiantly to overcome the unexpected and rapid growth of cancer until her heart could no longer handle the pain. There will never be another one like her â so loving of caring of all. She will be missed greatly by her husband: Tom, her two daughters: Kim and Robin, their husbands: Steve and Bill, her son: Tom, her six grandchildren: Dan, his wife Lyndsay, Tim, his wife Meghan, Nick, Billy, his fiance Nicole, Annie, her husband Pat, David, his fiance Victoria, and her six great-grandchildren: Jace, Weston, Everett, Penelope, Declan, and Jack.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 25th, at 1:30 p.m., at the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 8545 East Dry Creek Road, Centennial, Colorado. A reception will follow the church service in Tom and Shirleyâs home at 4886 South Malta Way, Aurora, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Mrs. Shirley S. Billings (wife of CAPT Thomas H. Billings, USN (Ret), USNA Class of 1959) to the: USNA Naval Academy Foundation, 247 King George Street, Annapolis, Maryland 21402.
