Shirley Ann Ellis

December 11, 1932 — February 26, 2013

Shirley Ann (Hall) passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 26, 2013. She was born at home to John P. Hall and Bessie M. Booth in Clear Lake, Wisconsin, youngest of 6 children. Baptism, first communion and confirmation at St. John's Catholic Church, Clear Lake, Wisconsin. Graduated from Clear Lake High school in 1950. Lived and worked in Minneapolis, Minnesota for 2 years then moved to Denver, Colorado in December of 1952. She married Warren L. Ellis from Erie, Kansas on October 13, 1956. They had three sons, Robert; Randy and Ryan; she retired from Air Force accounting in Denver, Colorado on Nov. 30, 1996. Preceded in death by husband Warren, Mother and Father (Bessie and John), Brother (John Hall), Sisters, Vivian (Leonard Luty); Patricia (Lee Kerber); Brother-in-law, Bill Roatch. Leaves to mourn sons, Robert (Sheri and Shae); Randy (Susie and Trey); Ryan (Liz, Jessica, Tanner and Lauren); two step grandsons Bryan Luttrell (Madhu) and Brett Luttrell (Julie, Owen, Joe and Jake) two sisters Doris Roatch of Mesa, Arizona and Beverly (Philip) Gregersen of Seattle, WA, long-time companion, Marvin Smith, many beloved relatives and cherished friends. Belonged to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Denver, CO for 50 plus years; lifetime member of VFW – Post 1; American Legion and AF Post-10 POCS for over 20 years. Dancing was the love of her life always. Services to be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 4 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2200 S. Logan, Denver. Reception immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Catholic Charities, 4045 Pecos Street, Denver, Colorado 80211, or the American Cancer Society, 2255 S. Oneida St., Denver, CO 80224.
