Shirley Naughton

Shirley Irene Naughton, 90, of Denver, CO, died on May 18, 2023. A Celebration of Life will be held in Decatur in October, 2023. Memorials: Knitting4Peace, 2600 Leyden St., Denver, CO 80207 or charity of donors choice.

Shirley was born December 25, 1932, in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Edward P.  Scott and Lenora Huber Scott. She married Thomas J Naughton in 1952.  Shirley enjoyed volunteering at St. Mary’s Hospital, St. James School and St. Teresa High School. She enjoyed quilting, genealogy, gardening and was a member of the DAR. While living for many years in Decatur she was a member of St. James Church before moving to Austin, TX and later to Denver, CO.

Survivors include: her daughters, Pam (Charlie) Leder, Eve Stapleton, Leslie (Mark) Calnon; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Beverley Scott; nieces and nephews.

Her parents, husband and brother preceded her in death.
