Shirley Mae Leake

Shirley Mae Leake (Davis) Shirley was born on Nov. 4, 1933 in Denver, CO to George & Anna Mae Davis and passed in Denver on Nov. 16, 2016. She graduated 8th grade in 1948 from Barnum and then went to work at Bredan Butter on Broadway, stamping butter to help support her family. She later worked at Montgomery Ward. She married Stanley T. Leake on Jun. 6, 1952. She was a member of the Job's Daughters (Masonic Lodge) organization & a Girl Scout Leader. Shirley will be remembered by all who met her for her kind, generous spirit. She enjoyed baking, gardening, traveling, helping others and always had a smile that could light up any room. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband & daughter, Cheryl. Survivors include daughter, Stephanie McFarren; son-in-law, Mike Quaintance; grandchildren, Stephanie (Tom) Oursler, Molly (Matt) Schmid, Dewey (Katie) McFarren & Carmel (Roy) Vasquez; siblings, Charlotte Simpkins, George Davis & Paul (Karen) Davis; and 7 great grandchildren. Services will be held on Wed., Nov. 23 at 12 pm sharp at Ft. Logan National Cemetery with a reception following at Horan & McConaty (Lakewood). Please share condolences at www.HoranCares.com.
