Shirley Ann “Angie” Hafer, age 88, went on to be with her Lord on Saturday, February 5, in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
Angie was the sixth child born to Earl L. and Cara M. Meeks, in the rural town of Tipton, Indiana, on July 31, 1933. She grew up with eight siblings who all attended a little white church in the country. Angie learned to play the piano and accordion at a very early age and would often accompany the congregational singing as a young teenager.
Angie moved to the Denver, Colorado metro area, with her two young daughters, in 1970. She gave private piano lessons to as many as 25 students at any given time for many years. After serving in many local churches, she entered full time ministry and was ordained as an evangelist in 1975. Gifted both as a pianist and singer, her evangelistic tours often took her across the United States and brought her before dignitaries. She earned both an honorary bachelor’s degree in music in 1987 and an honorary doctorate in ministry in 1988 from Family Bible Institute.
She produced “Healing Waters,” a piano album of ten of her favorite gospel songs and medleys, in 2002 and published her autobiographical book, Still God’s Little Girl, in 2006. She established Healing Waters Ministries in 2003, holding monthly miracle services in various area churches until 2020, being used by God to minister healing, salvation and comfort to her audiences.
Angie is survived by her husband, Robert Hafer and his children, her two daughters, Montra Cleveringa (husband Rodney) and Tami Pritchard, five grandchildren, ten great-children, and her two younger sisters, Lavona Smith and Dorcas Woods.
