Sigrid Davison

July 4, 1938 — June 9, 2022

Sigrid Davison, 83, died in the home of her daughter where she was surrounded by family. The cause was due to a fall she had in the kitchen. She broke her hip and had surgery. She just couldn't recover from the injuries.

Born July 4,1938 in Berlin, Germany. She decided to leave her mother, Frieda Reich, and brother, Wolfram Reich in Germany as she began her new adventure in the United States.  At the age of 18, she decided to travel to America on a ship to New York with the final destination to Wauneta, Nebraska via train. She did not speak English, yet she somehow made the journey.  Nebraska was not where she would stay. Instead, she would settle in Greeley, Colorado and start her family.  She worked at Weld County School District 6 in the kitchen at Scott Elementary School for 34 years. Yes, she made those cinnamon rolls we all loved.

Her hobbies included sewing, baking, camping, and fishing. If you were a lucky one you were invited into her home for a "coffee clutch" as she called it. Where you would have fancy finger sandwiches, treats and personalized napkins. She enjoyed entertaining.

She has been a lifelong member of the VFW in honor of her husband, Lester Davison (deceased in 2000). Once she retired in 2003, she enjoyed watching two of her eleven grandchildren (Krislyn Welch and Matthew Lash) play sports. She was a football fan as well. She loved cheering on the Broncos; although, she seemed to like the Dolphins more.

Survivors include her daughter Lisa & Brian Lash of Aurora; Wolfram & Claudia Reich of LaSalle; Eleven grandchildren, Twenty-two great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. Sigrid was preceded in death by her children: Peggy Gallegos, Steven Niebuhr and Pamela Riley.

Sigrid has elected cremation and will be placed next to her husband and her almost famous dog, Lady Channel Ashley.
