In loving memory of Simone Zalman, nee Paulette Huguenin.
Born in Geneva, Switzerland on February 4th, 1926, Simone spent most of her early life there, also living in Georgia and Chicago for a time.
She met and married her husband Sherwin in Geneva while he was attending medical school there.
Simone lived in Pittsburgh, Maryland, and Detroit before settling with Sherwin in Denver, where she raised her family.
She was mother to 3 children, Henry (born 1958), Robin (born 1959), and Alan (born 1961).
Simone was an accomplished cook in many styles, and enjoyed sharing foods of the world with her family and friends. She was particularly skilled at traditional French cooking.
Simone was a lover of nature and music, and also had many diverse cultural and scientific interests, which she delighted in sharing with her family. Simone belonged to a number of groups in the Denver area, including the Swiss American Friendship Society, the Circo Italiano, Alliance Francaise, the Denver Symphony, the Colorado Mountain Club, and the Colorado Mycological Society.
In her forties, Simone returned to school, and received an Associates Degree from the Community College of Denver, studying art, history and geology.
Simone passed away on Saturday, February 9th, at Swedish hospital. She was 93.
She is survived by her three children, and five grandchildren: Melinda, Amelia, Johnathan, Zach, and Quinn.
She will be missed by all who knew her.
