Skaidrite Velta Walker

Skaidrite Velta Walker, age 77, died at the home of her daughter on Friday, April 1, 2016. Born January 7, 1939 in Nikrace, Latvia, she lived in Germany, Berthoud and Denver, Colorado and worked mainly as a devoted child care worker until retiring in 2012. For the last four years of her life Sky was an integral and dedicated resident of Higgins Plaza, where she spent time taking care of other residents and volunteering her time to assist the associates who are responsible for the Plaza. Survivors include daughters, Kathy (James) Moran and Mona (David) Weaver, son David Walker and son-in-law Matt (Nan) Nowak. Sky was preceded in death by husband Paul, daughters Sharon (Matt) Boryla, Barbara (Matt) Nowak and son Michael (Colleen) Walker. Sky, also known as Gma and Opa, had several grandchildren, and great grandchildren who will all miss her terribly. Services are to be determined.
