Sonia Dale Seymour

Sonia Dale Seymour, 60, from Hopewell, VA, entered Heaven's gates peacefully on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at her daughter's home in Castle Rock, Colorado. She was born on December 17, 1952 in Suffolk, VA to the late Wesley and Gertrude (Walden) Boykin. She was married to Dale Seymour on January 15, 1971 and he preceded her on April 25, 2007. Sonia was a long time resident of Waverly, Va. where she spent her childhood and a lot of her adult life followed by several years in Dendron and Hopewell. She spent her last 3 years in Colorado close to her daughter and family. Sonia loved and enjoyed being around people. Family and friends were her passion and delight. She loved to host and entertain and frequently held gatherings in her home where she could share God's love. Sonia had an unwavering faith in God and enjoyed sharing His word with others. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Hopewell, Virginia until she moved to Colorado where Grace Fellowship became her church family. Sonia is survived by 6 children; Dale Seymour (Carolyn) of Waverly, Va., Bonnie Seymour of Hickory, N.C., Sandra Burrier (Jeffery) of Castle Rock, Co., Charles Seymour of Morganton, N.C., Jennifer Seymour of Hickory, N.C., C.J. Seymour of Castle Rock, Co.; 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 3 sisters; Blanche Walker of South Hill, Va., Faye Mattox (Alton) of Waverly, Va., Gloria Thweatt (Roosevelt) of Prince George, Va., and 1 brother; Glenn Grammer (Paige) of Waverly, Va. The family will be holding a Celebration of Life Memorial Service in honor of Sonia's life on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Unity Baptist Church located at 4951 Mt. Sinai Rd., Prince George, VA. The family requests that no black be worn as Sonia was a colorful and lively person. Please join us in wearing bright shades of color to celebrate her life.
