Stan Ross

August 20, 1950 — November 22, 2012

Stan was born in Kansas to Bill and Carol Ross. He earned his bachelor's degree at Colorado State University and then moved to Leadville where he worked as a forest ranger and manager at Ski Cooper. Stan loved the outdoors; he enjoyed sailing, skiing, camping and golfing. He married Tina Dolan in 1977 and relocated to Denver where he worked as an IT specialist. Stan was an active member of the Jaycees, serving as president of the Leadville Chapter from 1976-1977 and the Arvada Chapter in 1983-1984. Stan also enjoyed watching sports, especially football, and betting on the horses. At the age of 62 Stan was battling cancer and had beat it, but died from complications of radiation on November 22. Stan is survived by his wife of 35 years, Tina, daughters, Amanda and Ellen, parents, Bill and Carol, and brothers, Scott and John. Stan's life will be celebrated on Saturday December 1, 2012 at the Arvada Jaycee Hall (5640 Yukon St.). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (2255 S. Oneida St, Denver, CO 80224) or the National Kidney Foundation (kidney.org). Please share your memories of Stan and condolences with his family by signing the guestbook below.
