Stanley H. Haberthier

March 29, 1933 — November 4, 2010

A well-know Powell businessman, Stan Haberthier, 77 passed away at home in Denver on November 4th of heart failure. Born in Wichita, Ks on March 29th 1933 he moved to Cody, Wy as a young boy. After graduating from Cody High School he served 4 years in the Air Force during the Korean War, stationed in Newfoundland. After his discharge from the military he attended NWCC in Powell to pursue his business degree. He married Dinah Cool in Lovell in 1961 and together they moved to Powell where they purchased the Cary Music store building and began Sage Music Company. In later years they also acquired the Honda and Kawasaki franchises and opened Big Horn Cycle. After selling those businesses Stan was not ready to ""retire"" so he operated an oilfield service business until moving to Denver Colorado in 1992. While in Denver, he worked with his sons in the construction business until shortly before his death. To his sons, partners and co-workers he was ""Iron Man Stan"". He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Dinah, a daughter Debra Wood (Greg) of Billings, MT sons, Anthony (Jayne) and Sean of Denver and sister, Ann Baker (Warren) of Allyn, Wash. He also leaves 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Sally Gonion. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 12:00 noon, Horan and McConaty Family Chapel, 3020 Federal Boulevard, Denver, Colorado. Interrment to follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, Colorado .
