Passed away quietly from this world Tuesday, June 12, 2012. A beloved father, grandfather, sweetheart, and loyal friend, he is survived by his children, Robert Randall, Cindy Calder, and Linda Schley, sister Beverly Boxberger of Newbury Park, CA, grandchildren Daniela and Austin Evans, Audrey and Tommy Schley, son-in-law Scott Schley, longtime sweetheart Martha Brew, nieces and nephews. A true Coloradan, Hays graduated from Denver East High School, University of Colorado, and completed his law degree at Denver University. He served as a member of the US Army in the Pacific theatre during WWII, primarily in New Guinea and the Philippines. Hays raised his family with former wife, Ella, in Lakewood, spending summer weekends creating a family oasis in Eldorado Canyon. Professionally, he served the State of Colorado as its Securities Commissioner for many years. Known for his dry sense of humor and a quick wit, he nurtured several lifelong friendships, and will be profoundly missed by his loved ones. A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, June 19th in the main lounge at Wind Crest Retirement Community at 2:00 p.m., 3235 Mill Vista Road, Highlands Ranch, CO 80129. Please share your memories of Stanley and condolences with his family by signing the guestbook.
