Stanley W. Kuchel

Stanley ""Stan"" William Kuchel, 73, of Littleton passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 21, 1945 he was the son of the late William and Maxine Kuchel. Stan married Martha E. Clarke on May 28, 1966 and together they shared 52 years of marriage. When they were first married, Stan served in the United States Army for nearly six years at Fort Monmouth in New Jersey and Fort Wainwright in Alaska. With his Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Tulsa, he worked for Southwestern Bell and AT&T in many cities across the United States, until his early retirement. He and Martha then moved their family to Colorado where they started their own computer consulting business. He also began teaching at several colleges as an adjunct professor, touching the lives of thousands of students with his gentle instruction. Stan loved cars and studying and knowing every detail about them. From an early age and throughout his life, he worked on, drove, repaired and modified every car he could get this hands on. From his '55 Chevy coupe to his 2000 Corvette, cars were his passion. He also enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, electronics and all things mechanical. Master of the road trip, he and Martha showed their children many of the best places in the United States including National Parks, zoos and museums. He faithfully participated in Bible studies throughout his adult life, and led studies together with Martha. A special treat for him was spending time and playing with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Martha, he is survived by his children, Michelle Butler and her husband, Russ, Shannon Fehlberg and her husband, Kevin, and Warren Kuchel and his wife, Gwen, his grandchildren, Kayla and Canyon Kuchel and Cian and Rosheen Fehlberg, and his brother, Steve Kuchel and his wife, Myra. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 1-3PM at Horan & McConaty, 3101 S Wadsworth Blvd. Lakewood, CO 80227, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 6PM at Waterstone Community Church, 5890 S Alkire St, Littleton, CO 80127. Burial with military honors will take place on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 11:15AM at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S Sheridan Blvd. Denver, CO 80236 (Staging Area C).
