Stephen Ozro Nelson

Passed away at the age of 73 on August 21, 2018. He was preceded in death by his father Ozro Nelson and mother Bridget Nelson and he is survived by his children Stephen, Charlotte, Laura and Emma and his grandchildren Kaylen and Jerrick. Steve was a research biochemist at Tulane University, University of Amsterdam and Rice University, learned to speak Dutch and earned 2 PhD’s, after which he changed career path to bookkeeping and accounting for several firms in Aruba and Denver. He loved cooking and gardening and he has left a legacy of many mango trees he planted years ago in Aruba. He served his country during the Vietnam era and after a long fight with his service related illness, he has now earned his angel wings. Above all, he was a loving father and his unwavering humor, his wonderful dad jokes, and his endless reservoir of patience will be missed.

 

There will be a viewing at Horan and McConaty Funeral Home, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave, Aurora, CO, on Saturday August 25, 2018 from 3-5 pm.

At a later date, according to his wishes, there will be a service and burial on his family plot in West Monroe, Louisiana.
