Stephen Miles Witt

September 29, 1960 — July 20, 2013

Stephen ""Steve"" Witt, 52, passed away from complications of diabetes at Platte Valley Medical Center Brighton, CO on July 20th, 2013. Steve was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on September 29, 1960 to Jean and Gerald Witt. His childhood was spent mostly in Wisconsin and California. He graduated high school in Riverside, California and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he proudly served his country for several years. He was currently employed at SMA Solar Technologies where he was Manager of Test Engineering. In his spare time, Steve volunteered with local youth sports programs, including his beloved Brighton Tigers baseball team. He is survived by his sons, Zachary and Trevor; his sisters, Sara, Heidi and Nancy; his significant other, Laura and her children, Kate, Nik and Ben as well as by many great extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jean and Gerald. Steve will always be remembered for his sense of humor and quick wit, his generous spirit and kindness and his love for the Wisconsin Badgers and the Green Bay Packers. Though he will be greatly missed, he will live on in our hearts forever. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013 from 2-6pm at Carmichael Park, 650 E. Southern Street, Brighton, CO 80601. For those attending the service, please honor Steve by wearing your favorite college team attire. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Brighton Tigers baseball team, in care of Laura Jones at 10621 Racine St., Commerce City, CO 80022.
