Stephen C. Wright

Stephen C. Wright age 60 of Thornton, Colorado died Saturday afternoon January 10, 2004 at his residence after a battle with cancer. Born on May 24, 1943 in Anderson, Indiana, he was the son of the late William H. & Carol Joan (Mills) Wright. He was a 1961 graduate of Karlsruhe, Germany American High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1963 to 1967, and during the Vietnam War serving on the U.S.S. Sacramento. He attended the University of Texas in San Antonio, Texas for 2 years and was a 1970 graduate of the Denver Police Academy. In 2001, he retired after 32 years of service with the Denver Police Department '"" Denver, Colorado. Preceded in death by a Daughter: Teresa R. Wright who died in 1999. Survivors include his wife of 39 years: Betty Delores (Wittlif) Wright; daughter and son-in-law: Michelle M. & A. Patrick Gropp of Thornton, Colorado. Brothers & sister-in-law; William A. & Mary Wright of Pueblo, Colorado and Victor E. Wright of Denver, Colorado. Sisters & brother-in-law: Helen L. Schafer of Highlands Ranch, Colorado and Rayna E. & Bruce L. Barnes of Eaton, Ohio. Grandchildren: Elizabeth A. Wright, Jessica R. Holweger Gropp, and Kathryn C. Gropp Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2004, 11:00 A.M. at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel 9998 Grant Street Thornton, Colorado. Military Honors will be presented by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard. Family will receive friends at the funeral home after the Memorial Service.
