We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Steven Michael Drew, 61, of Denver. He fought a long battle against kidney cancer. We rest in comfort knowing that Steve is at peace. Steve was born in San Jose, California. He attended school in Lodi, CA, and graduated from Lodi High School in 1964. In 1968 he graduated from the University of California, Davis, with a degree in Agricultural Economics. He received an MBA from the University of Denver in 1983. Steve was proud of his service in the U.S. Navy Reserves. He was on active duty from 1968 to 1972, with two tours of duty on the U.S.S. Mauna Kea during the Vietnam War. In 1999, he retired attaining the rank of Captain, Supply Corps, USNR. He retired from Lockheed Martin in August 2006, after 21 years of service. He is remembered for his love for his family and his country. Steve represents truth, honor, and courage to those who knew him and loved him. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Lynne D. Drew (nee Dowlin), son Damon M. Drew, daughter Danielle D. (Josh) Hansen, mother Ruth M. Drew (nee Madland), sisters Mary M. Drew and Laurie A. (Raymond) Killian brothers Eric W. (Mary Alice) Drew, Jonathon L. (Laurie) Drew, and Robert A. (Candace) Drew. Grandchildren Drew M. Hansen and Cash D. Hansen and many nieces and nephews also survive him. He was preceded in death by his father, William E. Drew and sister Diane M. (Darle) Robbins. To celebrate Steve's life, services will be held Thursday, August 23, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Horan & McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO, 80227. Committal following at Fort Logan National Cemetery with Military Honors. Reception to follow at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Denver Hospice, 501 S.
