Steven Craig Ingerslev, age 74, died in his home in Centennial, Colorado on Feb. 3, 2022. Son of Harvey and Goldie Ingerslev, Steven was born in Carroll, Iowa and raised in Rapid City, South Dakota. He graduated from Black Hills State University with a Bachelor’s of Science. Steven traveled throughout the US and Korea where he served in the US Army, planted roots in Colorado, and married his wife, Sun.
Steven served the community as a firefighter with the nickname, “Petey.” Steven worked at station #6 on the Aurora Fire Department for 26 years. After retirement, his time was spent fulfilling his love for the outdoors, fishing, creating watercolor paintings, supporting his grandchildren on the softball and baseball fields, and being a wonderful family man. Steven leaves many cherished memories as a loving husband, amazing father, and proud “Papa.” Steven created a lasting legacy with his friends, and most of all, with his family.
Steven is survived by his wife, Sun, their son, Jason Ingerslev, their daughter, Jesica Harrington, her husband, Lance, and their two grandchildren, Makenna, and Gunner Harrington. He is also survived by his brother, Donnie Ingerslev (and family) and sister, Linda Johnson (and family).
Funeral services will take place at Horan and McConaty (5303 E. County Line Rd. Centennial, CO 80122) on Tuesday, Feb. 22 from 12:30-1:30 pm. Following the service, an escorted procession will commence and Steven will be interred with military honors at Ft. Logan National Cemetery (3698 S. Sheridan Blvd. 80236, Denver).
