Steven Harry Mogensen

Steven Harry ""Mogie"" Mogensen passed away on January 18, 2010, from congenital heart failure due to COPD. He was born in Friend, Nebraska, on July 4, 1949, to Harry and Virginia Mogensen. Steve married Pamela, his high school sweetheart, in 1987 and they made their home in Northglenn, Colorado. Together, they have four children. Steve was also a proud veteran who served in the Army for three years, doing two tours in Viet Nam. He was proud to be an American and to fight for this country. Steve worked in the foundry field for over 30 years, working both at Railway Motors in Fairmont, Minnesota, and Electron in Denver, Colorado. After Electron closed, he drove a semi over the road and worked at Expert Pipe in Denver. Steve loved working in the garage, fixing things, building furniture, working on cars or just anything to be working with his hands. He enjoyed fishing, shooting, and camping. In his later years, camping was more fun in the motor home or the popup. Also, he never missed a Star Trek/Next Generation episode or movie. He loved his family and would give the shirt off his back if you needed it. He was generous to a fault. Steve is survived by his wife, Pamela; his son, Steven; his daughter, Karen Webster; and his step-sons, Shane and Sean Davis. He leaves behind five granddaughters, Kaylie, Stephanie, Hallie, Audrey, and Destiny and one grandson, Alex; his sister, Donette O'Conner plus thirteen nieces and nephews. And his beloved granddog…Buffy. He is preceded in death by his mother, Virginia, and his father, Harry. Steve's memorial service will be held at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 9998 Grant Street, Thornton, Colorado, on Friday, January 22, 2010, at 10AM. He will be interred at Fort Logan National Cemetery. ""What you brought to our lives will never be forgotten.""
