Steven Carl Olson, age 68, passed away on August 6th, 2020. Aliases include but are not limited to Pop Steve, Little Stevie Olson, Uncle Leroy, Mr. Fix-It, Creep, Pee Wee, Lou Lucious and Mr. Steve. But never Mr. Olson, that was his father.
He was born on January 8th 1952 in Denver, Colorado to Carl John Olson and Catherine Claire (Boggard). His childhood was spent in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, graduating from East High School in 1970. The majority of his career was spent at Natkin & Company as a Warehouse Manager.
Steve married the love of his life, Carol Ann Eby, on June 25th, 1977. They were happily married for 40 years and built a beautiful life together raising their 2 children.
Steve is survived by his daughter Sarah Ann (Darren) and his son/amigo Shawn Carl (Ashley). He leaves behind 4 beautiful grandchildren who he adored; Calvin, Tatum, Charlotte and Sawyer Carl. Siblings include Carla (Larry), Cindy, Kevin (Lynn), Monie (Charm) and Lisa (Harold). He found great joy in being an uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.
Steve is preceded in death by his bride Carol Ann, mother Cathy, father Carl, his dear sister Karen (Ron) and his best friends Dave Sundine and John Wilson.
Anyone who had the great privilege to be in his presence experienced his magnetic story-telling, wicked sense of humor and expert delivery of jokes at every occasion. The consummate life of the party, he was even known to jump out of a cake or two. Steve had a special love for his many cars and antiques for the majority of his life. He was a man's man, full of grit but also known to shed a tear every now and then thanks to his tremendous heart. The entirety of his life was driven by an immeasurable amount of generosity. He was always ready to share his home, his cars and his pocketbook for anyone in need. He will be missed immensely by all who knew him and will forever be in our hearts.
Memorial contributions are welcomed to any of the various charities that Steve consistently contributed to up until his final days. These charities are Salvation Army, Children’s Cancer Foundation, Paralyzed Veterans and The Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions we will be delaying services until further notice. We intend to host a celebration of his beautiful life in 2021.
