Stewart Jerome Goldstein

March 31, 1933 — February 27, 2005

Dr. Stewart J. Goldstein, 71, Denver Optometrist, died February 27, 2005. One of Dad's greatest loves in life, might have been growing his personal capital. Learning, seeking, growing his mind and his abilities to make a difference in other peoples lives. He read books, downloaded electronic articles and journaled all day and all night so that he could pass along knowledge to others. His mind moved too fast to explain and his journaling was his minds release. He was contemplative about the world, about poetic love, about abolishing war, hate and political shams, he ached for peace, curing the uncurable, he believed in that a healthful lifestyle and positive attitude turned back the clock. His family, friends, colleges and patients, some of whom are third generation patients, meant the world to him. I believe his patients did not go to him to see more clearly with their eyes, but to see more clearly with their hearts and minds. He loved to share stories and laughter. All who knew him grew a little and definitely laugh a lot. He was a wonderful man, he shined a light for others and will be missed more than words can express. In his practice, he treated friends and patients in Denver for 40 years. He had a passion and vigor for life and shared his passions with others. He was loved tremendously and will be missed. He is survived by his three daughters, Sarilyn Steiner, Julie Chapin and Kira Chapin, his two grandsons Brett and Andrew, and granddog Boogie. To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
