Stuart Crego Crippen

Stuart Crego Crippen was born March 23, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois to Stuart and Agnes Crippen. He died after a brief illness on January 23, 2020.

Stuart was married to Loretta Sramek on August 24, 1968. They raised 3 children in Denver, Lillian (Nate) Craze, Tyler (Sara) Crippen and Neal Crippen, and have 5 grandchildren: Maria, Samuel, and TJ Crippen, Anna and Cooper Craze.

Stuart was a fixture in SE Denver where he operated a lawn care service for 50 years.

In addition to his wife, children and grandchildren, Stuart is survived by beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and older sisters Beverly and Nancy.

Stuart enjoyed serving his lawn care customers and operated Best Lawns until he entered the hospital in October. He loved time spent with family. He loved music, exercise, hiking in the mountains, weekends in Estes Park, traveling and all the hours he spent on the sidelines of his children's and grandchildren's events. He also loved baseball and time spent at Coors Field with his baseball family in section 105. He was a man who loved to share stories and talk to strangers.

A memorial service will be held February 8, 2020, 10:30am at Celebration Community Church, 1650 S Birch St, Denver CO 80222.

Graveside service will be Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 1:oopm at Estes Valley Memorial Gardens, 1672 Fish Hatchery Road, Estes Park CO 80517.

* The Noble Seymour Crippen Home that the society owns and cares for is Stuart’s childhood home in Chicago. The house was designated a City of Chicago Historical Landmark on May 11, 1988 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places on August 11, 2000. It is a multi-purpose community center and is open to the public for tours. Stop by and visit if you are ever in the area.
