Sue Marie Soder

Sue Marie Soder, 79, of Lakewood, died in her home on Wednesday, August 4, 2010. She is survived by Wilbur Soder, her loving husband of 42 years. A memorial service and reception is planned by the family on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Horan & McConaty facility located at 3101 South Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, CO. She is also survived by her children Robert (Cate) Monks, Michael (Jordan) Monks, Charles (Sharron) Monks and Becky (Thurston) Smith. And grandchildren Mary Monks, Emily Monks, Kelli Winkle, Jill Winkle, Matt Winkle, Angie (Brian) Zielinski and Amy Smith. And great-grandchildren. Madison Zielinski, Grace Zielinski and Oakley Delancy. Sue was born on July 24 or 25, 1931 (depending on whom you consulted) in Cincinnati, OH to Robert and Silva (Steinmann) Udry. Sue was a lifelong learner, avid reader, voracious crossword and jigsaw puzzle solver, accomplished duplicate bridge player, master gardener and connoisseur of dry martinis. She was friendly to all, but her true friendships were few in number, though long in duration. For those friends, she would do almost anything and most of these friendships have spanned 50 years in length. Sue spent her professional career as an insurance agent prior to her retirement, but was most proud of her children and the wonderful adults they became. Mom, we shall miss your sense of humor and grace.
