Sundina ""Sandy"" Kite, 82, of Denver, passed away on New Year's Eve, with family at her side. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Weldon F. Kite, and two stepsons, Weldon B. Kite and James M. Kite. She is survived by her son, John A. Kite, and life partner, Brad Margritz, of Denver; her son, Ray D. Kite, and wife, Ann Kite, of Highlands Ranch; and stepson, D. Edward Kite, and wife, Beverly, of Rocky Ford; her stepdaughters-in-law, Nina Kite, and Michelle Kite; and other family. She was born on August 13, 1926 in VanHouten, NM, but considered Raton, NM her childhood home. She grew up there as Sundina Rea, the youngest of five children. In 1950, she married Weldon F. Kite of McKinney, TX. They moved to Denver in 1951. In 1958, they launched a business from their home called ""Weldon F. Kite Company."" Sundina's office and book-keeping skills were employed in the business for over 40 years, though she is more fondly remembered for all the office lunches she so lovingly prepared for the staff. She volunteered her culinary talents on numerous occasions at church functions, partic-ularly at Southwest Baptist Church, and at family gatherings. Throughout her life, she gathered a collection of all things miniature. She spent 52 uears in the same Harvey Park neighborhood in southwest Denver. Sundina moved to Porter Place in early 2008 and soon called it ""home."" A celebration of Sundina's life will be held Sat., January 10, 2009, 11 AM at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 2250 S. Harrison St., with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, a gift in Sundina's memory may be made to Porter Adventist Hospital, 2525 S. Downing St., Denver. 80210.
