Susan Mary Foster Beste-Riggs

November 28, 1951 — June 25, 2024

Susan Mary Foster (Beste-Riggs), lovingly known as Scooter, passed away on June 25, 2024, at the age of 72. She was born on November 28, 1951, in Bloomington, MN, and most recently resided in Arvada, CO.

Susan was a woman of many passions and hobbies. She found joy in art, reading, theater, cooking, writing, gardening, creating a beautiful home, and traveling. Her favorite foods were the ones she created herself, with Italian cuisine being her primary love. She had a deep appreciation for all jazz musicians and their music.

However, Susan's greatest love was her family. She cherished her grandchildren, Lincoln, Evy, and Jackson, and her family was always her top priority. Susan fought bravely against her illness and participated in clinical trials to contribute to the advancement of medical research, hoping to help others in their fight.

Sorrento, Italy held a special place in Susan's heart, but she found beauty and joy in every corner of Italy, especially Puglia. She had a contagious smile and the best laugh on the planet, which left a lasting impact on the lives of those she encountered. Susan had a genuine love for everyone and was always ready to listen with an open heart.

Scooter is survived by her beloved husband, Don Riggs. She was a proud mother to Griffin Beste (spouse Sydney) and the late Colton Beste, and stepmother to Laura Riggs (partner Scott) and Spencer Riggs (spouse Amanda). She adored her grandchildren, Lincoln, Evy, and Jackson, who brought immense joy into her life. Susan is also survived by her sister Nancy Petrella (spouse Joe), sister Carol Petrella (spouse Michael), and brother Doug Foster (spouse Susie).

In honor of Susan's memory and her courageous battle, her family kindly requests donations to support Pancreatic Cancer Research at pancan.org .

Susan Mary Foster (Beste-Riggs) will be dearly missed by her family, extended family, and friends. Her infectious smile, loving nature, and unwavering happiness will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
