Susan ""Sudee"" Doyle

September 25, 1939 — August 23, 2014

Susan Dee ""Sudee"" Doyle, age 74, died at The Denver Hospice Care Center of uterine cancer on August 23, 2014. She was born on September 25th, 1939, in Colorado Springs, the daughter of Mildred and Herbert Stockdale. She graduated from St. Mary's High School (Colorado Springs) in 1957 and earned a degree in English Literature at Loretto Heights College in 1961. In 1962 she married Louis V. Doyle, who died in 2007. Sudee taught in the Denver Public Schools for 11 years and then worked for the Girl Scouts' Mile High Council for 20 years. She volunteered for the Girl Scouts, the Association of Volunteer Administrators, Directors of Volunteers and Agencies, League of Women Voters, Metro Volunteers, Regis University, and the Obama Presidential Campaign. She is survived by her children, Christine Doyle, John Doyle (Katya), and Andrew Doyle (Chelsea); 6 grandchildren, Madeleine Doyle, Connor Doyle, Lauren Doyle, Brady Doyle, Erin Doyle, and Ashlyn Doyle; her brother-in-law, Walter Doyle: and 3 nephews. A memorial mass will be held at Christ The King Catholic Church, 830 Elm Street, Denver, CO 80220, at 1:30 PM on Friday, September 12, 2014. A reception will follow in Ballard Hall at the church. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Buena Vista, Colorado, next to her husband of 45 years and near her beloved mountain home at the chalk cliffs of Mt. Princeton. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Girl Scouts of Colorado or to the Fr. Brady Fund for the Poor C/O Loyola Church, 2309 Gaylord St., Denver, CO 80205.
