Susan Green

Susan Marie Green was born on September 21, 1958, in Martinez, California. She passed away peacefully on January 20, 2023. She is survived by her husband David, and her daughter Tiffany. She is also survived by her sister Therese, brother Robb, sister-in-law Cindy, niece Hannah, nephew Jacob, nephew Andrew, nephew Kevin, niece Annika, nephew Alex, and nephew Austin, cousin Lora, and Aunt Joann. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Irene, and her sister, April. She is also survived by her pets, dog Georgie, cat Beau, and cat Milo. She is preceded in death by dog Ginger, dog Maggie, cat Ralph, cat Calvin, dog Lilly, cat Missy, cat Buster, and dog Daisy.

Susan was the oldest of four, which is where she practiced her natural caretaking of others. She was a loving daughter, mother, wife, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to all that knew her. Though born in California, the family moved to Colorado when she was 5. She loved growing up and living her whole life in Colorado. She graduated from Englewood High School, and she earned her Associate of the Arts degree from Arapahoe Community College.

She was able to find her passion was to work in health and wellness. That journey began at Englewood Recreation Center when she became an aerobics instructor. Her career would then take her to South Suburban Parks and Recreation, followed by Castle Rock Recreation Center, and then Anschutz Health and Wellness, where she spent 20 years with Look Ahead Study and retired in 2022.

Susan always gravitated to spending time outdoors, whether it was camping in the summer or just enjoying time on her backyard deck listening to music and having a fire. She had a deep love of live music and enjoyed seeing her favorite band, Big Head Todd and the Monsters every year at Red Rocks, which she always felt was the perfect kick-off to the summer season.

Susan loved her friends, dearly. Susan’s life-long friendships were very important to her. She enjoyed getting together for birthday parties and birthday lunches and used to love catching up on the phone on Friday nights. She was also an animal lover. She loved all the pets she had throughout her adult years and always talked about the dogs that they had growing up. She never thought she would become a cat person but that changed, and she even had a cat of her own, Missy.

Susan was loved and she will be greatly missed!
