Susan Kathryn Hukriede

Our beautiful mother, Susan Kathryn Hukriede, passed away on July 1, 2023, at Littleton Adventist Hospital at the age of 81. She was born on May 3, 1942 in Park Ridge, Ilinois. She was a graduate of Marywood High School in Evanston, Illinois. She then went on and graduated from Mundelein University in Chicago which became Loyola University in 1991. She married Kenneth Elmer Hukriede on September 9, 1967.

Our mom loved her family more than anything in this world! Her favorite activities were when she was with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She could always be found at hockey games, football games, wrestling matches, volleyball games, tennis matches, band and orchestra concerts, school plays, soccer games, pom competitions, basketball games, birthday parties, graduations, and weddings just to name a few of her favorite events. She was so excited about the upcoming arrival of her two new great grandsons. She couldn't wait to meet them! She never wanted to miss anything! She was everyone's best cheerleader.

She was an amazing friend to so many people. She loved to bowl, play bunco, mahjong, or just meet up for lunch or dinner or hang out. She was a devout Catholic.

Her faith was extremely important to her.

She is survived by her daughters, Julie (Keith) Couch, Anne Marie Hukriede, Beth (Patrick) Quinlan, grandchildren, Michael, Casey (Carlee), Kyle (Megan), Katie, Patrick, Avery, and Vivi, great grandchildren, Kash, Krew, and Kemper, sisters Judy (Robert) Wolfenberger, Mary Jo St. Clair, brother, Billy St. Clair, sister-in-law, Joyce (Orlan)

Echternach, many nieces and nephews, and countless friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Hukriede, parents, Shirley and William St. Clair, daughter Kathleen Mary, and brother, Bobby St. Clair.

Our mother requested to not have a funeral, but she did want everyone to attend Mass. You may join us for the 4:00 pm. Mass at Ave Maria on July 22, 2023, 9056 East Parker Road, Parker, Colorado, 80138. We will be having an open house to celebrate our Mom's life at the home of Beth Quinlan, 7439 S. Newport Way, Centennial, Colorado, 80112, beginning at 6:00 pm. on July 22. Donations may be made in Sue Hukriede's memory to National MS Society - DonorDrive. Our mother was an amazing wife, mom, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. We are blessed to have had the time we had with her, and we will continue to live our lives by her wonderful example. She is so loved and she will be greatly missed!
