Susan Elizabeth James, a long-time resident of Centennial, CO, died Sunday the 11th of October at Skyridge Medical Center in Lone Tree, CO. Born on January 7th, 1956 in Denver, CO, Susan graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1974 and attended college at the University of Colorado, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business. Susan went on to work as the office manager at the law firm of Montgomery, Little, Campbell, Young, & McGrew during the 1980's and early 1990's. She then owned and operated her own marketing company entitled James Business Services from 1996 to present. Susan loved good food, fun and uplifting movies, traveling, sewing, collectables and antiques, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed volunteering, as she was the costume designer for the Arapahoe High School marching band and color guard from 2003-2009. She is survived by her husband, David, son, Alex, daughters, Jenna and Stephanie, and mother, Rose, all of whom live in Colorado and brought great joy to her during the course of her life. Susan's father, Thomas Evans Sr., and brother, Thomas Evans Jr., precede her in death. A memorial foundation has been made in Susan's honor. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Susan E. James Memorial Benefit Fund in Colorado, care of Alex C. James, at any Wells Fargo location. The money donated will be used to benefit children who have been affected by domestic abuse. Horan & McConaty Funeral Service & Cremation, which is located at 5303 East County Line Road in Centennial, CO 80122, has been entrusted with Susan's funeral arrangements. The memorial service will be held on Saturday the 17th of October at 11am with a one-hour visitation beforehand.
