Susan Mcadam

August 9, 1951 — May 22, 2021

Susan Christine McAdam (Orr), of Glendale, Colorado (formerly of Bloomington, Illinois), passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021.  Susan was born on Thursday, August 9, 1951 in Beardstown, Illinois to Stanley and Dorothy Orr.  Susan grew up on a farm in the Beardstown area in west central Illinois, moving to Quincy, Illinois in 1965.  Following her graduation from Quincy Senior High School in 1969, Susan became a Licensed Practical Nurse and cared for patients at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.  Susan married Burjor Shroff in 1970 in Quincy, Illinois and had two children with him, Amy and Eric.  Susan and Burjor divorced in 1980.

In 1987, Susan moved to Bloomington, Illinois and joined State Farm Insurance.  Over the next 30+ years, Susan enjoyed a successful career at State Farm and thoroughly enjoyed supporting State Farm agents and clients.  Throughout her tenure at State Farm, she consistently challenged herself to grow and develop, completing numerous LOMA designations and earning an incentive trip to Seattle in 2001.  In 1996, Susan married William (Bill) McAdam.  In 2018, Susan retired from State Farm and moved to Denver, Colorado to be closer to her daughter, Amy, and her grandchildren.

Susan had many interests—she enjoyed singing, participating in Bible Studies, playing board games with her grandchildren, taking her grandchildren to State Farm Park, cooking and baking, sewing/quilting, and antiquing.  She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and loyal friend.  Susan loved to shop, especially at Talbots and Von Maur.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Dorothy Orr, and her brother, David Orr.  She is survived by her husband of 25 years, William McAdam; sisters, Patricia Hohulin and Diane Braun; daughter, Amy Shroff and her husband, Jeff; son, Eric Shroff and his wife, Cheryl; three granddaughters, Emmy, Laila, and Isabella; three grandsons, Remy, Devin and Leyton; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.  Susan will be dearly missed by her husband, family and friends.
