Susan Elizabeth Smith

June 27, 1944 — March 26, 2018

Susan Elizabeth Smith (Ott) “Sue” passed away on March 26th 2018. She was a loving and devoted wife, daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. She was born in Denver, CO on June 27, 1944 to her parents George Sr. and Mildred Ott and grew up in Sidney, Nebraska. She and her husband, Jay Smith of Peterstown, West Virginia, have been married for the past 35 years. Together, they enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, catching up on their favorite TV shows, eating out at their favorite restaurants, taking care of their dogs, and of course, spending time with their grandchildren: Aedyn, Austin, and Alexander LoPresti of Scottsdale, AZ; Noah, Elizabeth, Emerson, and baby Hulbert, of Commerce City, CO. She was a wonderful mother to her children Jamie Sims, Mindy LoPresti, Bobbie Hulbert and Marie Smith, and various foster children throughout the years. Sue is also survived by her brothers George Jr (Ed) and Charles Ott and families. Sue was devoted to raising strong, independent women. She was kind and caring, working hard to support her family, but also giving her time to any friend in need. Sue also loved her animals and most recently took care of her dogs Winnie and Clyde. Her recent favorite pastimes include reading, shopping, baking, playing Bunco with her Bunco group, attending Northrock Church, watching the animals from her back porch, and spending time with her family. In previous years, Sue worked for the Adams County Battered Women’s Shelter, a cause she felt strongly about. To support her cause, please make a donation in her name at THEFAMILYTREE.ORG A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, 2:00pm at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel 9998 Grant Street, Thornton, Colorado.
