Susan Kay Surwill

Susan Kay Surwill was born on March 28, 1948, on Easter Sunday, to Ralph and Geraldine Steele, in La Port, Indiana. When Susan was four years old, her family, which included two sisters, Jari and Sandy, moved to Burbank, California. In grade school she became best friends with her future husband William G. Surwill. Susan graduated from John Burroughs High School and soon after married her best friend. After which, Susan and William were constantly moving around the country. They lived in Pennsylvania, California, Nevada, and most recently, Colorado. She was the mother of two children, Stacy and Robert. Susan was very creative and a great organizer, which kept her constantly busy. Once retired, she was an active volunteer at the library and senior center. She loved to sew, read, travel, and be with her family but her greatest love was to be with her grandchildren whenever possible. Susan died on January 17, 2012 after battling cancer. She will be missed by all of the people whose lives she touched. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 11am at the Lord of the Hills Lutheran Church located at 21755 East Smokey Hill Road, Aurora, CO 80015.
