Susan D. (Sue) Wombacher was born on October 7, 1949, in Tacoma, Washington. She died on August 24, 2013, in Denver, Colorado following a long illness. She is survived by her mother Marion A. Wombacher, who resides in Richland, Washington. She is also survived by her sister, Maureen A. Young and her brother-in-law, Gene Young, both of Spokane, Washington. She was preceded in death by her father, William Ralph Wombacher, and her paternal grandparents, Ray and Blanche Wombacher, and her maternal grandparents, Rosario and Antoinette Carbone. Sue graduated from Wilson High School in Tacoma, Washington in 1967. She attended Washington State University in Pullman, Washington. Sue had a distinguished career in the telecommunications industry. Her professional career began in 1968 with Pacific Northwest Bell in Tacoma, Washington. She rose to the level of Vice President of Human Resources for U.S. West Corporation in Denver, Colorado; Media One Company in Denver, Colorado; AT&T Broadband in Denver, Colorado; Adelphia Corporation in Denver, Colorado; and DIRECTV in Denver, Colorado. Sue was an avid traveler and visited many European cities. Along with her family and friends, she traveled extensively by cruise ship to many exotic destinations. Susan played a key role in supporting several community organizations.
