Susan Gayle Knight Berdine

Susan Berdine died on July 12, 2022 at home with her family closeby. Susan was the wife of Matthew J. Berdine and the mother of Andrew (12), Ryder (10) and Abigail (7). She is survived by her parents, Mary and Paul Knight and a brother, Joseph. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Susan had numerous friends and colleagues who supported her in so many ways during her struggle with breast cancer during the last five years.  Susan was born on July 2,1979 in State College, Pennsylvania and she graduated from Penn State with an honors degree in biochemistry. She received an M.S. in Forensic Pharmacology from the University of Illinois (Chicago). From 2005 until her retirement in 2021, she worked in the Denver Police Crime Lab, serving as a deputy director for a period. She thoroughly enjoyed her colleagues in the lab. The family very much appreciates the extraordinary efforts of the Anschutz Oncology Group, particularly Dr. Jennifer Diamond.  Susan had an active faith in Jesus and trusted Him for her eternal life. She will be sorely missed by all whose lives she touched. The family will receive visitors at a memorial viewing to be held on Wednesday, July 20 from 1-3pm at Horan & McConaty’s Funeral Services at 11150 E. Dartmouth Avenue, Aurora, Colorado.
