Susanna Marie Key

Susanna M. Key, 64 of Castle Rock, Colorado passed away March 13, 2019. She was born to Lydia and Joe Garcia on October 20, 1954 in Trinidad, Colorado.

While in high school, she found her soul mate and partner in life, Scott her “sweetheart”. They were married on July 27, 1973 in Stonewall, CO. Together, they had two beautiful daughters and made Colorado their home.

Susanna is survived by children: Kimberly (Andrew) Martinez, and Karen (Tyler) Browning; grandchildren: Brandon Martinez, Colton Martinez, Dillon Martinez, Ethan Martinez, Armistead Browning, Willis Browning and Lexi Browning; siblings: Alice (Gilbert) Vigil, Yvonne Wilson, Betty Jo Truitt, Tina Garcia, Albert Garcia and Michael Garcia.

She is preceded in death by siblings: JoAnn Cortes and Joseph Garcia.

Following high school, Susanna attended Trinidad State Junior College. She further worked as a Copyright Analyst for 27 years in the Telecommunications Industry.

Susanna and Scott were members of Cherry Hills Community Church for 18 years. She was active in the women’s bible study group and numerous volunteer activities at the church.

During her free time, Susanna enjoyed scrapbooking, reading, collecting decorative eggs and making cards. She was very generous, loving, sweet and had such a warm heart for others. She always kept her family as the top of her priority and enjoyed every moment with her loved ones. Susanna's infectious smile will truly be missed.

In honor of Susanna, a Memorial Service will be held Wednesday March 20, 2019, 11:00AM at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home (5303 E County Line Rd, Centennial, CO 80122), reception to follow service.

Honorable contributions may be made in Susanna's memory to the American Cancer Society (10065 E Harvard Ave #400, Denver, CO 80231).
