Littleton, Colorado

82, of Littleton, Colorado, native of Indianapolis, died September 28, 2021. She was the beloved daughter of the late Jack Edward and Helen Hawkins Worner; preceded in death by brother Jack Jr., son Michael Worner Sherwin, and many doting relatives. Survivors include a host of caring cousins, friends, and sorority sisters who continued close and special relationships throughout the many years. A 1961 graduate of Purdue University with a Master’s Degree from the University of Wisconsin, Sue moved to Colorado in 1963. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority, Gold Peppers Scholastic Honorary, Theta Sigma Pi Honorary (President, 1960), Public Relations Rep. for Mountain Bell Telephone (President of MB’s Women’s Group, 1969), retiring from US West as Human Resources Director.

Sue had been a member of American Legion Post 34 Auxiliary since 1982. She also became a member of the Elks organization in honor of her father’s long-time membership in the Fraternity. She was a member of Hosanna Lutheran Church of Littleton, serving in the Altar Guild. One of the first residents in the Red Oak Townhomes Community, Sue valued the friendships of other long-time residents there while serving several years on various committees and the HOA Board. Her volunteer activities also included playing the piano in song sessions for seniors. Per Sue’s wishes, a private graveside committal service is to be held at Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, where she will be interred in the family plot.
